Limits per visitor count the same everywhere, and forget you within an hour
Publishing a site, signing in, the chat and the checks of a domain name or VAT number each have a limit per visitor. Those limits now count in one place, the same on every server, so a new deploy or a second server no longer starts your count from zero. For that we keep an encrypted form of your IP address for at most an hour, never the address itself; only the recovery copy of our database holds it for up to 35 days. The privacy statement says so. The numbers stay the same, with two small changes: the claim page now counts an hour from your first attempt instead of a sliding hour, and an hourly limit opens again after 59 minutes at the latest.
