An account that has been quiet for two years is deleted, after an email a month ahead

After you cancel, your account stays, so you can still get to your invoices. That remains true. What is new: if for two years you have had no site, no subscription and no invoice with us, and you have not signed in, we delete the account. You get one email a month before, with the date. Signing in before that date is enough to keep it, and the two years start again. We never delete while a payment or a question of yours is still open. Your invoices themselves we keep for the full 7 years, as tax law requires; you just can't open them yourself any more, so download them first if you still need them. Would you rather we delete the account sooner? One email to support is enough, as before.
