The container rates on Platform now follow the published price list
Our rates on Platform are cost price plus a small markup. For containers we had worked out that cost price from a dollar price with our own exchange rate, and we checked it again against the euro price list of our supplier. Five rates were off, and the two for scheduled jobs with them, so the rates page now shows new amounts. Compute while your app handles traffic goes up, from € 0.00002983 to € 0.00003984 per vCPU second. Compute that is kept warm without traffic goes down, from € 0.00000999 to € 0.00000469. Memory now costs the same whether the app is busy or quiet: € 0.00000469 per GiB second, where it was € 0.00000373 when active and € 0.00000127 when warm. Requests go from € 0.65 to € 0.66 per million, and the first two million a month are still on us. A scheduled job costs what an active container costs.
We also measure the quiet rate the way our supplier does: only a container you keep warm, running at its minimum with nothing to do, counts as warm. A container that scales to zero is active for as long as it runs. Every day is still rounded up to whole cents per meter, and the cost cards and examples now round the same way, so they show what the invoice will say. For a small app with 0.25 vCPU and 0.5 GiB that runs six hours a day, that is € 8.40 a month instead of € 6.60. Kept warm all day without traffic, it is € 9.60 instead of € 8.40. A small job that runs five minutes every night stays at € 0.60 a month. Seven other rates, for databases and domains, were a fraction of a cent too high because of how we rounded, and go down by one hundred millionth of a euro. A .nl domain on Platform was charged € 8.81 a year and is now € 8.80. The rates page and the invoice now show every rate to that precision, the exact amount we bill. The change log at the bottom of the page does not count that rounding as a new period; the real price changes stay there with the dates they applied.
