Connecting a domain you already own keeps your email
When you connect a domain you already own, you point its nameservers to us. Until now we would have started from an empty zone, so your email would have stopped the moment you switched. We would also have turned on mail forwarding, which pushes an existing mail server aside. Nobody had connected a domain yet, so nobody lost anything. Now we first check whether your domain already has a mail server of its own. If it does, we copy its records before we send you the nameservers, so your email keeps going to that mail server. Anything else on the domain, like a subdomain, we add when you tell us. The emails about your domain also say which case applies to you, and where your transfer code is: with us for a domain we registered, or at your own provider for a domain you connected.
